Digitally is a Mongolian eBook marketplace that allows authors to upload and sell their own eBooks online.
The site owner, Batjargal Tserendondog, needed a simple, cost-effective way to get a marketplace up and running as quickly as possible, and he also needed the site to be in the Mongolian language.
After going through various options with Batjargal, I recommended a solution that uses WordPress and WooCommerce with the WooCommerce Vendors Marketplace plugin.
Since WordPress, the plugins and themes are currently only partially translated into Mongolian, I recommended the Loco Translate plugin so that Batjargal could translate the entire site himself. I also added some custom code that enabled Batjargal to translate various user interface elements that were not able to be translated in the standard way.
I built the site on my staging server so that Batjargal could see the site coming together and give feedback. Once he was happy with everything, I transferred the site to his live server. I then walked Batjargal through the process of using Loco Translate to translate the site, and also helped him troubleshoot the translation process as well as put the site live.
Batjargal now has a nice, clean marketplace site, translated into his local language, that allows authors to sign up easily and start selling their ebooks in minutes!
