Request from household teens: Like the 'Wiped Out' pagekit.... but when can they see a 'Whiteout' pagekit.
They all took it up in January and are totally smitten with it. Personally, I tangled with the button lift one too many times and ran back to my skis:O)
Lots of sky blue, grey and white...cool

Button lifts with skis are no problem. Wait till you try a button lift on a snowboard! Ouch...

I'm convinced that people who do this are basically insane.

If the Almighty had meant us to proceed down mountains on one little skinny board, he'd have given us one leg and foot apiece. As it is, he's provided us with two so that we can proceed down mountains on two little skinny boards.

Hi Matt,

I think you hit your head on the halfpipe a few too many times, because that's what I said, duh:O))))))))))))

*This writer breaks out the Red Bull just to make it from the hotel to the bottom station*

Yes, well, hang on to that Red Bull. The way I have it figured, I'll still be able to ski when I'm old and fat. I'm not so sure about the snowboarders. In fact, I'm already old and fat. What we need to do is move to a place where it snows occasionally and where there are actually hills.

Anne,

I knew we had a few things in common, but I didn't relise you were my clone!!!!
They must be churning out these fat, old birds to similar locations around the world...I wonder how many more of us there are:O)

I'm not only old and fat, I'm old, fat and grouchy...

It's stifling here. Apparently El Nino is on us again, and we're in for another lovely summer of crushing heat and humidity.

Where are you exactly? I'm in the Baltimore sector, Maryland quadrant...

Fortunately, this model is located out of the high humidity regions as it plays havoc with my relays! Although the torrential rain here does leave my circuits in need of constant UVA....

I see from your ID that you are an earlier model, they were the ones with the higher intelligence quota, enabling multi tasking under climactic pressure....mine got the looks*yeah...rrrrright*

the idea is to get to the bottom right, (with some excitment) right? make a ski lift to the bottom and put a clone of Pamala Anderson Lee on ever chair, then you get to teh bottom, with snow excitement (i say this becouse my ski trips end up like when you reach the bottom of the mountian in ski free)

ah...the old Plastic Pamela ploy...I'd prefer the Keanu Reeves version myself;O)

Allison

Hmm. I'm not saying who you'd have to put there for me, though there is somebody.

It's now (what is it??) June 26th, and we're still smothering in the heat.

The idea of snow--lots of it--sounds pretty good right now. I would even ski downhill without the plastic version of my pool boy waiting for me at the bottom.

Anne
25-Jun-02 18:57
tut, tut, pool boy indeed.....has he got a brother?;O)

This is the time of year to break out the Warren Miller/ Glen Plake movies like 'Snowhat', sit indoors with your air conditioning on and then after, run out, griddle your feet on the patio and jump in the pool. And if I had a pool, I would!!!

Remember one of the Glen Plake commandments:
Just say no to yellow snow:O)

Allison

Glen Plake?

I gotta tell you, I would have attributed that one to Frank Zappa. (Told you I was old...)

Anne
26-Jun-02 15:00
Glen Plake is some mad American geezer with a foot high mohawk, who only skis 52 degree colouirs, you know the sort....where if you fall over you don't stop and if you put your elbow out at 90 degrees, you are skimming the side of the mountain with it((=O/
The man is obviously completely insane, but it makes good television!
Although I couldn't tell you the name of any Frank Zappa tune, I know that Dweezil and MoonUnit Zappa are the funkiest children's names I've ever heard. I'm just glad my parents showed some sobriety in 1961.

Warren Miller - Snowriders - and then there's Greg Stump - Groove Requiem. Buy 'em, rent 'em, don't live without 'em
28-Jun-02 17:00
Hi DJ

I've only got 'Ptex, Lies and Duct tape' of Stumps'. But I've got loads of other ones by lesser knowns - not to mention having Xtreme tv on 24/7...God, I'm a sad case...:O)

I'm just jealous of Matt going downunder, being as it's winter there and all. Didn't they film Jackie Chan's First Strike in one of those Oz skiing places?

*thinks*
*consults family Jackie Chan know it all*
