Hi!

I found your site while browsing for web templates (my site is in serious need of updating and streamlining).

I would like to try to use the "Homebase" page kit, but for my site needs, I need to change the text on the buttons.

How did you get the particular text effect and what font did you use? I'm going to be doing this in Corel Photo Paint.

Help is much appreciated.

I didn't build that template, Simon did (and a long while ago at that!), but I'd hazard a guess at Arial, or possibly Arial Bold for the font. The purple glow these days would be done with a simple Outer Glow layer style in Photoshop (I'd imagine Photo Paint has a similar feature?).

Does that help?

Yeah, thanks.

I was thinking either Arial or Arial Black on the font... and I'll have to check on the "outer glow" - I'm using an old version of Corel Draw (version 9), which doesn't quite have all the features.

Ah yes, I meant Arial Black, not Bold (I always get that one wrong!).

If there's no Outer Glow feature in CD9 you could try something like:

- duplicate the text layer
- apply some gaussian blur to the new layer
- change the colour to the purple
- move it down below the original text layer
