@alvaroolea: So what you're saying is, when you link to a PDF in your PhoneGap app, iOS (Android?) opens it in the default browser?

Hi Matt,

Initially I am making the application with jQuery Mobile, is the first I do

When I select the registration of a listview, I want to open a pdf within the same application, without having to open a new browser window (as is done in the exercise book Chums City, opening the map in a web of app).

Right now I have not integrated the web with PhoneGap to convert the native application, but if I open a pdf to open a browser window with window.open this will mean that you exit the application, by re-initialize when we return to start it.

It may not be the best way to make an application and then convert it to jQueryMobile native, but I said it is the first I do

Thanks in advance for everything.

@alvaroolea: What happens if you just link to the PDF?

Hi Matt, thanks for replying, I will try to explain better, my English is not very good

When I click on a link from my jQuery Mobile application I open a new window with the pdf file. The problem is that from that window I can not return to the previous one because the PDF is opened in full screen. When the application is in a web browser no problem because it is easy to return to browsing safari browser windows.

To simulate navigate through an iPhone app, I create a shortcut to the desktop of the iPhone, that way when I start the web, it looks like a native application.

The problem I have you here! When I start the application no longer opens as a web browser, so that I have the option of navigating through windows, so when I open a pdf in a window, I can not return to the App, and when I click on the access on the desktop, it is initialized again.

Searching the internet I saw a possible solution, which is used in Phongap The Child Browser Plugin (http://a.shinynew.me/post/19786775381/bridging-the-phonegap-childbrowser-plugin) but ... now I have not a Mac to test

I'll keep trying, but if you can help, I would greatly appreciate.

A greeting

Matt, I have answered what I asked? If I understand you, sorry

@alvaroolea: Sorry for the late reply.

How about opening the PDF in a frameset, with a small top nav frame so the user can get back to the app? Would that work?

Yeah I checked out the ChildBrowser plugin a while back regarding Twitter auth - looks like it would solve your problem, potentially.
