In this week's Elated Extra ( http://www.elated.com/newsletter/ ), I take a wry look at various designer personality types:

- The pure creative
- The "user-centred" designer, and
- The ""I just do what I'm told mate" designer.

Do you fall into one of these designer categories? Do your colleagues? Maybe you know of some other designer types and personalities in your office? Let us know below!

Hi Simon. At the moment I fall into another category... The unemployed, yes, yet unemployed designer. Perhaps I am in the between of the second and third, because I feel that it is pretty hard to get a job, and, if I do get it, I think I will try to keep it. I think I'll do my best, from my knowledge, to get everything done. If I open my own company I can go to a place between the first and second category... If not... Between the second and third...

Cheers from Portugal

Depending on the type of client, for me..."I just do what I'm told mate" and try to keep everyone happy - especially the client - so that I can remain in business! LOL

@mguerra79: I hope you manage to get a design job soon, and if not, that you have success with setting up your own business!

@mauco: Nothing wrong with that approach, if you're happy and making money.

@Márcio Fair point. If I was unemployed I'd definitely be heading to number three!

@mauco I think the crux of it is "especially the client". If the client's happy, then everyone else is much less important.

haha nice, in reality I do web design poorly for products you will never see in your life unless you are a lawyer or own a construction company in the US.
