I think on this basis I'd go for Chrome!

I'd go Safari because it looks the best. Shallow me? Well maybe when it comes to vehicles

Very funny but seems rather accurate illustrations of the browsers. Based on these illustrations then, I think I'd choose Safari as the best mode of transportation.

I still like Safari best =)

- Can't run IE (morally or on a mac)

- Firefox still just doesn't seem very mac like, and is a bit sandal-wearing hippydippy. Has got a bit slow since 3.5

- Chrome is fast but feels unfinished and a bit bratty

- Opera. I know Jon Hicks (http://www.hicksdesign.co.uk) did the interface, so it should be great, but feels a bit clever-clever and overbearing.

@Simon: Following your last Safari thumbs-up in the forums I gave it a proper go for a week and really tried to like it (honest!). However I've just given up and switched back to FF.

Things that bug me about Safari:

* Doesn't handle lots of tabs well. I hate the way Safari does the "drop-down menu" thing once you have too many tabs - very confusing. Firefox's tab scrolling is more elegant. Also FF has the common sense to hide the tab close buttons when the tabs start getting too thin, so you don't accidentally close tabs. (And when you do, it's much easier to undo - just hit Shift-Command-T.)

* No automatic session restore on restart. I love this about FF.

* No AwesomeBar. Apple really should implement this.

* Text selection is really fussy - you have to position the mouse either side of the start and end letters to select them. (Actually most Apple apps are the same.) I kept missing the start or end letter of a selection when copying & pasting. Firefox is more generous with this.

* It isn't so good at remembering form field values when you accidentally use the back/forward buttons (or when it crashes)

* I actually find I get the spinning beachballs more with Safari than with FF, despite Safari's claim to be leaner and meaner

That said, at least Safari doesn't keep stuttering for 1 second every minute or so - that's really starting to annoy me!

Hmm... Chrome/Opera here I come?
