Hi Mauco,

We have clients hosted with Hostgator, and they've been very good. No issues at all that I know of.

Hi Simon,

Please can you recommend any other web host (possibly one the offers reseller hosting)? Unfortunately, things didn't turn out as good as I had hoped at HostGator!

Hi mauco,

We switched our sites to WiredTree a few months ago and the server's been pretty reliable since we switched. Support is also fast, helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to fixing problems.

MAUCO:

Can you please let me know what went wrong with you and HostGator? I just switched to them and I haven't had time port over my domain yet and was wondering about your experience?

Thanks, Deborah

Hi DebG,

In fairness to HostGator, I didn't stay with them long enough to give a detailed review. But a few of the things I didn't like include: The process of verification of international customers, slow response to support tickets raised and the eventual realization that they host adult sites! Due to the increasing rate of identity theft etc, and my personal/moral beliefs, I didn't feel comfortable dealing with a company that allows adult sites.

Hostgator is good, but I personally recommend these guys Fastdomain first and secondly Bluehost.

Good prices in my opinion.

Fastdomain $5.95 a month, and if you google discounts, you get coupons from like $3.95 a month.

I have call those guys at the weirdest possible time for not to get an answer and they always get somebody to the phone.

Service is very reliable.

@mauco I appreciate your concerns about adult sites, also. Sad to hear about Hostgator and that. Please let me know how you're doing with your new host and any recommendations you can send our way.

Thanks!
Deborah

Yes I was aware somehow of that, but I never confirm if they were using the same servers or they were just an extension / affiliates of bluehos.

Bluehost is the main hone and fastdomain, is the second one.

But thanks for the verification.
