That, desibird, is very nice indeed.

Lovely typography, good use of a touch of Flash, clear branding/info and a minimum of page refreshes (as in none).

Very very cool. Is this you, as it were, or a client?

Clean, interesting, attractive. I really like how it functions, too. The scrolling text is cut off in my browsers. Come to think of it, I'm not all that big on scrolling text like that anyway. Could just be personal preference. Overall, top notch!

@designerchica: Agreed - an attractive site with a clean design.

@desibird: Nice work. Did you reach any conclusions about integrating your blog with the tabs? http://www.elated.com/forums/topic/4717/

Cheers,
Matt

Hey fellas... sorry for a late come-back. Been busy catching up with things happened during xmas/new-year season. Hope you guys all had a nice one too. haven't got back to it yet, as i've to start a new project something resembling to job-vacancy site.
Am using joomla and will post it here, for any ideas/help/download. Coming to the point, thanks for your appreciation with the site, but, am still looking at possibilities to create blog within the tubelog tab.

Had made a blog by myself, but ended up with, same-old problem... @matt.. any ideas from your end?

Hey desibird,

Had a pretty good break over here thanks, although things were rather hectic (in-laws visiting from the UK). I still haven't quite got back into the swing of things!

The tubelog thing is a toughie. As I said in the other topic, the problem is that the JavaScript tabs script isn't really designed for displaying all the content for a site (or blog); it's meant for displaying various sections of content within a single page.

You could improve the whole "no unique URLs/bookmarking ability" and "broken Back button" thing by using the JavaScript to create unique, bookmarkable URLs for each tab. I explain how to do this in http://www.elated.com/forums/topic/4717/ (see post dated 10-Sep-09 02:30). I also saw a jQuery plugin to help with this kind of thing: http://benalman.com/projects/jquery-bbq-plugin/

As to the problem of how to pull the WordPress content into the tab: iframes still seem like the simplest approach to me. Failing that then you could go down the Ajax route of making your archive links run some JavaScript to pull the posts into the left hand content column (calling a PHP script via Ajax to query the WordPress DB). Of course, if you want to allow people to comment on the blog posts then things get more complicated still...

I recommend getting into jQuery if you want to start messing with Ajax etc - makes life so much easier: http://jquery.com/

Cheers
Matt

It's not a bad site but I don't really like the green for the typography. It sort of makes it harder to read. Well, for those of us who wear glasses, readability is a big issue. Other than that the page layout is nice.

Nice site. I really like the colorscheme. It's also quick loading and easy to navigate. Good job.

Hi desibird,

I like how it's clean and easily read, but (and I'm sure this is a personal preference) it's hard to tell what's The Most Important. Everything is given equal weight -- my eye is not drawn to anything in particular. I would suggest some size variation to emphasize what is key to the site. But, I do like it!

I don't have much to say but this site really does look fresh! Its all well balanced, and the typography is also very well done! Also the graphics used in the header are great, these youre own?
