No particular suggestion. I just wanted to say hello from my shiny new, nice and fast, DSL connection.

I was looking for trouble. In fact, I knew there would be trouble. So you can imagine my shock when I plugged the whole thing together and it came up as soon as I powered it on.

Now I get to see about hooking all the other computers in the place up to it. A nice all-American long weekend of turkey, football, parades, and a little Ethernet on the side...

Ah, you clearly aren't attached to British Telecom, whose entire ADSL service went down the toilet the other day because they quote, "Lost" their network...

Sorry, I just have to do this. >ahem<

...Last seen wandering vaguely,
Quite of its own accord.
It tried to get down to the end of the town--
Forty shillings reward.

anne make sure your connection is secure:

http://grc.com/default.htm - click the shields up link

if it says it can get into your comp go to zonealarm.com to get a free software firewall....you probably know this stuff already most likely..:p

Ah, thanks. We have a firewall running on Linux at the moment--a 2000 server is supposed to ship to us from Dell on December 3.
