Hi Harry,
Thanks for the positive feedback!
We don't allow PageKits to be used for building websites for clients - see our Usage Agreement:
http://www.elated.com/usage/The reasons for this are as follows (taken from another post on the forums):
"there are unscrupulous web designers out there who have, in the past, taken PageKits and given them to their clients (changing a menu option or two), and claimed it was their own work and charging the client a lot of money. The client then finds out, calls us and is very angry! (And understandably so.)
Secondly, we see the PageKits as being for educational use, for people who want to learn HTML and design techniques. We're also quite happy for people to use them for their own sites, provided they give us a mention and include a notice on their site that the copyright remains with Elated. This obviously is not compatible with the idea of a web designer building a site for a client using a PageKit, and claiming it is his work. We feel that such practice flies against the spirit of our PageKits and our free resources in general."
Basically, the main problem if you use one of the free PageKits for client work is that it is not unique. Hundreds of thousands of people have downloaded our PageKits! This means that there are a lot of sites out there that will look similar to your client's site. Your client would not be happy about this!
We may soon be adding an option that will allow you to use a "one-off" PageKit exclusively for producing work for a client (for a charge). Once you "buy" the template, it will be removed from the site, so that the client gets a unique design.
Best wishes,
Matt
