Is my site too dull!

I've just become the new owner of http://designertuts.com a website that provides in the main free photoshop tutorials.

Its a Wordpress blog type site and is using the Torn theme from solostream.com so I can't claim credit (or take the flak!) for it really.

I am a bit worried the site is too ordinary looking especially for a photoshop site and needs a little something extra.

Any ideas?

Mike

Hi Mike,

A thinly-disguised linkdrop, but because of the funny goth makeover tute I'll overlook it!

In answer to your question -maybe. The basic design is clean and easy to use, which is no bad thing. The header though could do with a bit of work I think. It is no more than functional. Could you team up with an illustrator to do a new one every month perhaps?

"A thinly-disguised linkdrop, but because of the funny goth makeover tute I'll overlook it!"

Was it that obvious!

As you guessed I'm trying to build up my site in more ways than one.

But it was a genuine question. Elated.com also seems to go for the minimalist approach, so it obviously does work. I suppose content is the important thing.

Mildly obvious! I think content is important, but that said, differentiation doesn't hurt either.
