you need to optimise your images for download speed

The "home" page took over 2 minutes to show at 2M DSL

one image is 725K, that's around 30 times larger than ideal.
Use JPEG images not Bitmaps and compress them.

I found a tool to optimize your photos. It is called smush it. It is a Firefox add on. I used it on all my product photos. It took me a couple days as I have well over 400 images on my site but it really helps and you don't lose any photo quality. You may want to look in to it. It is free.
