Do you guys know how I could add a border around my links?

I want to set the outside background to the color marked by green in the image

and I want to use the box marked by blue that is going around the forums to border my links on my homepage

Hey Snot,

To add a border round your links, add something like this to the link definitions in the stylesheet:

border: 1px solid #fff;

This would create a white border. You may also wish to define some padding to give it some space between the text and border.

To apply a background colour to that, add a background-color definition eg:

background-color: #999;

So in the context of a full link definition it might look like this:

a:link, a:active
{
text-decoration: none;
border: 1px solid #fff;
padding: 3px;
background-color: #999;
}

Substitute your own colours, of course.
