For the record, I personally use a combination of what amount to text editors on the mac:

TextWrangler (very good for plain text stuff) - http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/

SKEdit (more of a proper web authoring environment) - http://www.skti.org/skEdit.php

CSS Edit (a new addition - time will tell if it stays) - http://macrabbit.com/cssedit/
