Well I don't understand why you are asking this question at all, because between the two there isn't any choice at all.



Photoshop doesn't do animation.

Photoshop CS2 has an Animation feature which you can create animated gifs. Just wondering which is better to use, for a simple animation? I'm new to designing for the web.

In that case, It will whichever you are comfortable with using and what kind of site you are using it for

GIFs are adequate for most simple stuff

Flash will need a browser plugin which many people choose not to install. But is better for animation.
