Can you recommend a book to learn Photoshop 4 techniques as a supplement to the manual? I'm looking for something in-depth, yet not too difficult, I'm not a newbie, yet not a techie either. I use Photoshop for varied things.

Try "Official Adobe Photoshop Studio Techniques" by Ben Willmore. It's a good "how-to" book, as opposed to the manual which really just lists the features.
