Hey all,

I really like the template system in Dreamweaver, it makes updating sooo much easier. My question is this : Is there a way to use FP 2000's themes or templates the same way that Dreamweaver does?

Appreciate any replies)

Ben.

No idea! We try to avoid Frontpage, purely due to that fact that it was so bad for so long that it put us off! It may now be great. What's your experience with it? Dreamweaver is the in-house tool of choice other than hand-coding...

Ooh! A new concept! You think so? I've always found it produces some quite dodgy and excessive code. Has it got better lately?

Ahh, but of course! It's got a cool and funky "web database". Using this "web database", you can change all sorts of neat snippets of code that the program puts in your page by default.

For example, I told it not to put that annoying (default) border=(big number here) as well as pointless size attributes. Aside from that, it really is a fun program to work with. Perhaps it could use a little bit less CSS by default, though.

Adobe is currently revamping it for the next version, so expect to see a lot more

in the future. Also, I've found Dreamweaver to be quite a pain with it's clunky interface. Any decent improvements in version 3? (besides the handy-dandy history pallette).

Actualy the new version 3 of DW is great over DW2.
You have more freedom in your javascripting and the object menu has been expanded so you cando common tasks very quickly but you have to mess with some of the code in the program. If you look at the directory structure of DW3 you can vbery easilly figure out how to make your own commands.
I use Dreamweaver to build all of my pages then I go through and tweak all the code with windows notepad.

Would anyone appreciate us writing some tips and tricks for Dreamweaver? Or for any other area of web site building, for that matter? If you have any suggestions for tips we could write, please post them in the Toolbox Suggestions forum, and we'll try our best to help!

Thanks,
Matt.

They both suck, try coding by hand, it's clean and crisp.

my 2 cents
