Im new to Photoshop and I have V5.5, I need to merge two pics together and I was informed thnat I could do this by cropping...However when I crop part of the pic, it increases in size (the cropped area) and therefore does not blend with its counterpart...(?) How can I crop a pic and keep its parameters exactly the same as I the whole pic was still there? OR should I be using another method to accomplish this task......
Cropping

Hi smc,
Hmm... difficult to see exactly what you mean without looking at the actual pics. Could you put them up on a website somewhere and give us the URL to have a look at? Then maybe we can advise you further.
I think your problem is that when you crop it *reduces* the image size (as you'd expect). If you want to keep the same image document size but crop the actual image inside the document, then select it with the rectangular marquee, then click "Inverse" from the "Select" menu, then "Clear" from the "Edit" menu (or hit the "delete" key).
Cheers,
Matt

Is the resolution the same on both pictures ?
Also, just because the "view" size changes, the actual file size
doesn't...
