Great this forum, now I know how to make a circle!
Next I want to edit it : how to paste a picture inside it, and how can I then save (just) the image, to be inserted unto my homepage?
greetings,
Oshiva.

Hi,

I've learned a lot from the people here too, including how to do a circle. My idea is, you don't paste a picture inside the circle, you cut the circle out of a bigger picture and paste it onto a background that matches everything else.

I do it by taking a saved copy of the picture I want. And I plan ahead so I know what color my background will be and set that up as the background color in Photoshop. Then I use the marquee tool to draw the circle on the picture. I move it around on there until it's just where I want it. I then use COPY. Then I hit CTRL-N (this is a PC) to make a new file, being certain "background color" is checked. That will give you a nice square or rectangle, just big enough to paste your circle into. Paste the circle into the new file, and if you're done, flatten it, or do whatever you need to.

If it's a photograph, you might need to save it as a .JPG, but if it's a drawing, you could export it as a .GIF and make the background color transparent. (Most of mine are .JPG's so I use the matching backgrounds.)

If you would like to see a page I am testing, where I've done just what I describe here, you will find it at:

http://www.geocities.com/march_josephine/testmouse2.html

It's just a test page (no text yet), but if you run your mouse over the circles on the left, you'll see just what I mean.

Just about everything on that page is something I learned by reading the posts in the forums here at Elated or from going through the tutorials here. I've done an enormous number of circles and ovals recently to showcase the beadwork I do. Maybe eventually I'll have all the pages ready to go.

Anne
