This week in our newsletter, the ELATED Extra, Simon considers the horrifying possibility that all the online "inspiration" he reads on a daily basis is actually rotting his brain and he'd be better off without it and just concentrating on doing great work.

If you have any thoughts on this, or would like to see him suffer though a month of cold turkey as an experiment, let us know below!

If you believe Timothy Ferriss (http://www.amazon.co.uk/4-hour-Work-Week-Escape-Anywhere/dp/0091923727/) then this is *exactly* what you should be doing. He suggests going on an immediate 1-week "media fast" for starters, then practising techniques such as asking yourself if the info you're reading is actually useful to the task at hand, as well as stopping reading something immediately if it sucks (rather than the common habit of finishing it for the sake of it). He reckons you'll save tons of time and produce better work too.

Good luck!

I use delicious (http://delicious.com) for all my bookmarks these days, which is a hangover from when I had both desktop and laptop system on the go. I like the idea that they're accessible from anywhere though, and I do use them too.

There's truly an information overload going on.

I guess with everything in life we just have to be moderate and selective. Therefore we can take a break once in a while. It'll do you good.

I find the scanning method useful and getting a Delicious account is good.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one addicted to Elated. I'm also following you guys on Twitter!
